The largest freshwater fish in North America, alligator gar can exceed 300 pounds and 8 feet in length. Once nearly eliminated from much of their range, conservation efforts have restored populations in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and other Southern states. Targeting alligator gar has become a bucket-list pursuit for trophy anglers seeking a prehistoric predator with incredible size and power.
